SP&E Co., Ltd. is a company specializing in manufacturing firefighting supplies and applied machinery products.
As the inventor of the world’s first sprinkler that removes smoke while extinguishing fire, SP&E strives to be a leading global firefighting company by developing and applying smoke-removing technologies.
Partnering with Korea’s best corporations and ministries, SP&E has also officially partnered with Worcester Polytechnic Institute, world’s top fire and safety university based in Boston.
SP&E’s technologies have been recognized as one of the top tier technology evaluation rankings in Korea and has won numerous awards for technological innovation for disaster prevention including 2022’s recipient of the Top Grand Prize at Korea Environmental Awards.
SP&E is a shorthand for “Save People and Earth”, as the company strives to invent and invest new ways to save people and the environment for both public and private sectors.
02. Founder Bio
Gyu Kim is the founder and CEO of SP&E.
Already an established leader in the medical industry for over 30 years, Kim has expanded his pioneering spirit to the fire and safety industry with the groundbreaking invention of the century for sprinklers.
He is the CEO of Petra Medical Co. Ltd, and the former director of St. Jude Medical Korea, Medtronic Korea, and Boston Scientific Korea.
Kim has a B.S. from Sungkyunkwan University and have recently returned to become a Masters & Ph.D joint candidate at the Graduate school of Disaster Prevention and Safety Engineering at the same school.
